Luxor is the capital of Egypt and is home to some of the most impressive ancient Egyptian monuments in the world. These include the 3400 year old Luxor Temple and its Karnak Temple Complex, necropolises in the valleys of the Kings and Queens, and the colossal stone sculptures known as the “Colossi” of Menmon. Luxor is easily accessible by taxi or horse-drawn carriage, but if you’re looking for a more fun way to explore the city, hiring a bike is a great option. However, it’s best to do this during the day, not during the peak tourist season.
